On a glorious Sunday in February, the 2024 vintage was officially declared by Barons of Barossa.
Congratulations to Marie Clay, the 2024 Barossa Winemaker of the Year, and Marcus Schulz, the Viticulturist of the Year.
Nominated by their peers, the awards recognise exceptional dedication to Barossa grape growing and winemaking.
At the Declaration of Vintage, Barossa Australia also presented a Grower Services Award.
This award was initiated 14 years ago by Barossa Australia's Grape Barossa committee, to annually recognise the outstanding contribution and voluntary service to the region of a member of the grape growing community.
This year it was declared that the award will now be known as the “Chris Rogers Memorial Award for Service to Barossa Growers.”
The late Chris Rogers was highly respected by his peers and, as stated at his memorial service in December, “leaves a legacy that is greater than most would realise”.
Chris' wife Christine accepted the inaugural award.
