It’s official, Gather Round is coming to the Barossa Valley in 2025!
We’ve always deserved a game, and that’s why so many have consistently been pushing for us to host one since the concept was first announced.
We are the jewel in the crown of tourism, food and wine in Australia, we’re close to the city, we love our sport and we’ve got great facilities right across the region, including the recently completed upgrade at Tanunda.
When the Gather Round news was announced, so too was a very significant investment for Lyndoch Rec Park. I love sport, particularly for what it does for regional communities and bringing people together. I welcome investment into Lyndoch, because we deserve better facilities and an upgrade there is something which local clubs have been working with Council on for many years.
But at the same time I’ll also unashamedly say that given the government has opened the cheque book towards a very significant $42 million sports upgrade, I’d also expect more money will be invested into bread-and-butter issues and priority projects for our region too. Building the new Barossa Hospital and investing in better health services, a water security solution for our farmers, fixing our roads and improving transport options – just to name a few!
