Goats, Rote Grütze and sunshine

We're so lucky to have several fantastic local shows in our region, and after having to cancel last year, it was great to have Tanunda Show back on the calendar this year.

By all accounts the volunteers on the gates were kept busy with a steady stream of showgoers all day and the show hall was packed with exhibits!

After years of enjoying the efforts of others, I decided to have a go making Rote Grütze for the very first time and entered it in the hotly contested championships at the show. It was wonderful to have a chat with several established Rote Grütze cooks and pick up some great tips for next year!

While I didn't pick up any honours in the Rote Grütze, there was certainly fun to be had out on the oval, and I had a blast participating in the Jeff Kernich Memorial Handmilking Championship.
