What's the future for Gumeracha ED?

After community effort (and media pressure!) the government finally revealed Gumeracha Soldiers District Memorial Hospital out of hours care would commence on May 29 - just a few months after the expected start date in late March.
After a temporary closure of the emergency department due to Covid-19 this new model for out of hours care was largely driven by the community and is certainly a positive step.
Ultimately though, we need to attract and retain frontline health workers so that reopening the ED can remain a future option, and that’s why we’re calling on the Labor Government to come to the table and offer incentives like other states are for their health workforce.
